Its the Godfather...what more can be said.
The Bad - If you haven't seen the film it's hard to pick it up, long winded gun fights, lack of ammo.
As we all know movies that are made into games tend to suck, really bad. As it's the Godfather at stake, there is A LOT that could go wrong but also being the Godfather, this could possibly be the best movie-game tie in ever. Luckily for us it's the later.
When you first pick up the Godfather you are straight away thrown into the world of the Corleone family. Guns, violence and gangs. You learn the basic combat system as "your father" but he gets killed and the Corleone family promise to take on you as their own. This is where the game properly kicks off. From then on you are killing, extorting, doing missions etc for the family to make as much money as you can and work your way up. You'll fight off rival gangs and take over thier rackets to build your empire.
The GTA sandbox gameplay really opens up the Godfather world. You play the storyline just like the script of the blockbuster but with you as a key character instead. Alongside the storyline there are many side things to do that give you the feel as being "part of the family".
The visuals are perfect. Every fine detail from blood splatters to the flame from a molotov all look bright and realistic.
The downside to the game is that if you haven't seen the movies then you may seem lost in the world, nevertheless to say that this game still seems playable. It just means that some parts of the story line (such as the horses head in the bed) might seem abit confusing for non fans of the film.
Overall the Godfather is the best movie game out there and is a MUST OWN for all fans and non fans of the movies.
