More Amazing than the actual movie that's for sure

User Rating: 8 | The Amazing Spider-Man 2 PC

But then again it doesn't take much to top that pile of disappointment...

The Good:

Story: While most of the basic concept of its mediocre movie counterpart is still in there, the game tells its own unique story expanding itself with more characters, plot lines and details. It also has better dialogues and morals which the actual movies failed to offer.

Everyone has a role: Each character, including all villains plays a certain part in the main story and not in there for the sake of being in the game or being a boss at the end of a mission.

Awesome Boss battles.

Basic Melee Combat is very agile, fast and enjoyable.

Ability to choose between using stealth or face to face combat.

Web swinging is improved and navigation through city is easier and more fun thanks to web rush.

Graphics; It doesn't offer a very detailed atmosphere but the character models are 'flashier' which makes them fun to watch especially during action scenes.

Unlockables: Awesome, unique and infamous costumes with different bonuses, Digital comic books, Audio Logs with more details of the plot and certain characters.

The Bad:

Main story missions are way too easy, especially comparing to combat challenges.

No advanced combat moves nor many gadgets to choose from; There's only the basic hand to hand combat and a very few gadgets that are only needed to take down certain enemy types.

Very simple Stealth system; Even though it's called a "system", it comprises the basic move of reaching an enemy from behind or above and clicking a button.

50/50:

Hero & Menace system: It is a good way to keep the player active all the time like an actual superhero but it can be a distraction from other activities the player wants to do at the moment

Conclusion:

An enjoyable Spider-Man game that surpasses its movie counterpart, inherited with many good features of its predecessors, but still very far away from becoming 'THE Spider-Man Game'.
