"With great power comes great responsibility" this is Spider-Man's motto and one that Beenox has failed in.

Beenox has the power to put out a very, very good Spider-Man but they have not been very responsible by using re-hashed material and boss fights from previous Spider-Man games that they have put out, example the boss fight with the King-Pin is almost identical the Spider-Man Noir mission with Hammer Head in 'Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions'. The Black Cat fight is practically the same from The Amazing Spider-Man (1) the only difference is this time it is in a museum instead of a bank and the boss fight with Carnage is almost the same as the Carnage boss fight from 'Shattered Dimensions'. Even in 'The Amazing Spider-Man (1) the Scorpion is the same from 'Shattered Dimensions' they only cleaned up the graphics and changed the face.

The story line for this game really does not make any sense either. You are supposed to be tracking down the "Carnage Killer" with the help of Kraven, you find out that the King-Pin is behind all the crime going on in the city and then BAM there is Electro. OK so there is this little tid-bit with Max Dillon early on in the game but really Electro does not fit in the main story line at all. This is a very poor attempt by Beenox linking the game to the new movie but not making it a movie based game. Why even go there???

The worst thing about this game is the STUPID..STUPID..STUPID hero meter and it is because of this I have lost all desire to keep playing this game. I do not know how many times I have reached the max on the hero meter only to have it drop again especially after I just saved some one from a sinking boat, run away hi-jacked car, a piece of a building falling on someone, or a bomb going off. I have spent more time listening "Whitney Chang" do her thing then actually playing. These side missions become very boring and tedious, the meter drops way to fast and it takes away from the fun of just being Spider-Man swinging through the city and just randomly finding a crime taking place or someone needing to be saved, it also takes away the enjoyment of trying to find all the little things hidden through out the city such as the comic books. You want to keep your meter on the hero side because if you don't you become a menace to society and then the next you know you have flying robots out to kill you........more evil robots from previous Spider-Man games. Enough with the evil robots Beenox.

What I do like about this game is I love how Spider-Man looks even in the alternate costumes (which I might add IS something that Beenox does RIGHT, they are and have been very, very good about giving the player the alternate costumes for Spider-Man) and I like the new web swinging by having to use both the left and right triggers to swing through the city, this really does give Spider-Man a more authentic feel.

I really do not want to compare the Batman Arkham games to this because there is no comparison what so ever but the Batman games really did set the bar of what a superhero game should be and Spider-Man SHOULD be up there with Batman.
