Racing and living a lifestyle combined.

User Rating: 6.5 | Test Drive Unlimited 2 PC
Graphics: I don't have any complains about graphics, it could be better but seeing its an open-road games it could be far worse. All in all it looks nice and environment looks great.

Sound: Very bad. Sometimes you don't hear your engine which makes it hard for manual shifting. Its not fun when an racer pulls Ferrari next to you and its freaking loud while you barely hear yours. It seems they only did veyron and ferrari sounds right.

Music: There are two radio stations, which are more like two audio cds with annoying advertisements.

Gameplay (racing): While in general the racing grows on you and learn to play well, you constantly need to adjust driving assistance according to a car. Finding the right car is also adventure of its own. While the specs are important its not everything, you have to consider handling, for example getting FWD or AWD with slightly slower specs then RWD is usually a good idea. Sure you can handle it on dry and with no other racers, but include wet and/or other racers bumping you and you won't be able to control the thing (hitting Full Assistance is also an option). That said handling is fine.

Gameplay (avatar): This game is living a lifestyle so getting your avatar dressed up and buying houses is a must. Its kind of fun having your own personal dress-up doll that will then race your car, thou unlike trailers parties don't look like that. Even if you have tons of people in your house all you can do is do emotes and chat. Its a nice addition thou and gives you a change to change that generic guy with sunglasses you find at other racing games.

Gameplay (cops): Ok I'll explain what Atari did here. Just before release of its game, NFS:HP came out and some guy said lets do that too...and it turned into disaster. To initiate cop chase you need to hit cop car couple of times, then all hell brakes loose. Cops come flying at top speed from all over the place to ram you or get in your way, and driving offroad also initiates countdown until arrest...very stupid thing. The other part where you are the cop is also not well done. You need to receive a phone call from cops (which I did one time in whole game) and after confirming you get into random cop car chasing a car. Now they implemented some kind of EMP (again failed copy from NFS:HP), which doesn't work right, and you need to stop the car. For every time doing a chase or cop you get points to level up your "cop" or "robber" level...and if they catch you in "robber" mode you get clean record, aka level 1. Stupid.

Gameplay (camera): Personally i prefer using hood camera, but there are other standard behind the car as well. One thing are cockpit camera...its so bad its sad. The interior design is done well, however position of driver is like you were 2m tall in sports car (very obscuring view) and when cornering it simulates gravity on your avatar which is also very annoying.

Unlocking: Since its an open-world game you have to find shops and tuners yourself. By finding things you get discovery points which nets you new cloths and tuning...however if you want to get the most you have to go looking for wrecks and photo locations(some of which are annoying, like having to take a photo in certain car, in rain and in certain time, spent like 20h on said island and it never rained when I needed it to) or discovering roads...which gets very annoying. Personally i found all wrecks on both islands, finished all cups, discovered most of the roads, done tons of challenges, missing one photo and still stuck at tuning level 3 (4 is max). So while its fun to ride around the island and seeing things, its very annoying if you want to unlock something.

Multiplayer: Game features clubs (not working atm), challenge boards (hackers on top spots) and very bad "lobby" system. There is no traditional lobby, you need to discover a track to play it, and if you want that track you need to click on it from the map. Going to "Join a ranked match" gets you in random match (or none at all), which either results into getting into "no restriction" race or when you get into restricted race you get random car. It is not fun getting into race and getting some bad car from your garage while the OP starts race immediately just to get the win against you.

Bugs: And tons of them all over the place, makes you wonder what beta testers were doing all that time. And to make things worse the server crashed on 9Th and kept going on and off since then. Also they shut down clubs on 9Th so that's out (something about exploits..again beta testing?). You can't even play with your friends ATM. Its like Atari is using retail customers as beta testers. Besides that, there are invisible walls, cars not shifting properly and so on.

Conclusion: Its a fun game, it might get better once they get some updates out (they have been working "round the clock" on fix since 9Th...its 15Th now and they managed to get servers back up, but no game fixes). If open-world, lifestyle and racing exotic cars on exotic places is your thing, you just might like it. If you want plain simple good racing game, better check NFS:HP.
