Tales of Destiny is not a 4.9
I will admit, at first I didn't think ToD was a good RPG, the story starts off slow, but it will grow on you, in the end, the story is nothing memorable, but most RPG stories aren't. The graphics are okay, they remind me of the SNES. That said, those are probably the worst parts of ToD.
The combat is good, like all of the Tales series games, you can move around, you move on a 2D field. You also have techs that you learn as you level up. The worst part about combat, the AI isn't the best, usually when I played, my healing character healed, which is good, but my melee characters just stood there and did nothing almost all the time.
The Audio is good, but not the best on the PS1, some songs are good, some are bad. The game play is like your normal RPG, go around, do dungeons, talk to people in cities, upgrade your equipment etc. But ToD can keep you entertained for a long time.
Tales of Destiny isn't the best RPG out there, but it is a good game, I would not want to pass this one up.
