User Rating: 4.5 | Syphon Filter 3 PS
Syphon Filter 3 was a good game back in its time. It was the perfect mix of Metal Gear Solid's stealth action and shoot em up titles. The game came out at the end of the PSX life and I feel that it was kind of overlooked. Syphon Filter 3 was like I said a good game back in it's time, but now a days all the flaws stick out and the control scheme will make your fingers go numb after about fifteen minutes of playing. Its a shame.

Syphon Filter 3 takes place right after Syphon Filter 2 (i found it a bit strange that 3 was put on PSN before 2) so if you didn't play that game or the first one you will be out of the loop on the current situations and on the characters. Syphon Filter 3 lets you play not only as Gabe Logan but as other operatives that you have fought along side in the series past, as each character explains their past in an attempt to clear their name. That is pretty much the basis for the game's story. That is the only thing that remains unchanged over the years.

The graphics in the game are not very good. They were never spectacular but they are definately worse now than they were back in the day. Even in the newer Syphon Filter's the voice overs have not always been the greatest, but this game is definately the all time low for the series because I know they were not this bad in the first game. Now it is time to talk about Syphon Filter 3's death wish and that is the controls. Yeah this game is already difficult enough, but without the second shoulder buttons it is damn near impossible. You feel as if your hand is streched all the way across the controler and like each finger is responsible for doing three serperate things. It literally makes this once fun game, not fun to play at all. While I was really looking forward to playing this game, I am now kicking my self for spending 6.40 (tax included) on this game and I should have let it live on in my childhood. Oh well. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from the PsP version of Syphon Filter 3.
