Super Street Fighter II Turbo with pretty HD graphics and some new moves.

User Rating: 6 | Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix PS3

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix contains 2 versions of Super Street Fighter II Turbo, which are classic mode and remix mode.Remix mode modifies some of the character moves, for example Guile's somersault kick travels forward,E Honda's flying headbutt can penetrate through projectiles, and there's some other changes to character moves.

The graphics look more colorful and the characters and environments have been redone and they look more detailed and prettier. You'll still see characters being set on fire when they're hit by Ken's shoryuken or Dhalsim's Yoga fire but the fire effects look better now.

From a gameplay perspective it's nearly the same Super Street Fighter II Turbo that you might have played at the arcades or on a console. On classic mode the AI opponents are very tough and are very cheap on normal difficulty or above(easy difficulty is too easy).Classic mode on normal difficulty is about as difficult as the arcade version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo. On Remix mode the CPU isn't as tough but is still challenging while not being unfair.

Another way this game is different to the older versions of Super Street Fighter II Turbo is if you make it to Bison in less than 20 minutes, you'll have to face Akuma, who is very HARD to beat and his moves and combos remove a lot of your health.I do not like this idea and I liked the other way Super Street Fighter II Turbo made you reach Akuma by making it to Bison without losing a round.

I think this game was a bit pricey for a downloadable rerelease of an old game, costing 25 AUD.

I love Street Fighter games because of the strategy, delicate timing with the moves and the way the player must use a balance of basic and special moves to win battles.I like the different styles of fighting such as the shotokan style,Guile's powerful defensive style, the super human abilities of Bison, the speed of Chun Li and Vega, the Bruce Lee style of Fei Long, the way Dhalsim can use yoga to breathe fire, teleport and extend his limbs, the enormous size of strength of T Hawk and Zangief, the sumo wrestler named E Honda etc.

The endings for each character have been redone and they explain the character's story better.

I found the multiplayer to be laggy and often during online matches I couldn't see what move my opponent did until a couple of seconds afterwards because of the lag and it made it hard for me to defend myself or to plan an attack.

The game does a reasonable job of representing Super Street Fighter II Turbo but would you be willing to pay 25 AUD for a prettier version of SSF2T?
