excellent game, and started the mario rpg games
like most of the good classics, this game had wonderful music. It is catchy, and is pleasing to the ears, and greatly contributes to the overall satisfaction of the game.
The gameplay is also simply amazing. their are plenty of hidden items to find, but instead of badges, you get equipment. although you get some very good items from the shop and item boxes, the best items require much more work in order to find them, but are well worth it. Without these items, the game is much more challenging. however if you do get these items, you are practically invincible.
The battles run very smoothly, and work great. You can only have 3 characters at a time, each with their own unique items and special moves. once mastered, you can deal more and more damage. Characters that don't battle also gain experience, just at a slower rate.
The map itself has several puzzles and platforming goodness, and contain all the secrets of the game. If you can figure it out, their is a special battle that can be found by obtaining and using certain items. he is much harder than smithy, and gives a person more satisfaction in completing the game.
Super mario rpg is packed full of fun, from finding all kinds of different things, or trying to complete certain things, you can spend hours enjoying it. the story is not the best, but is still funny and good. If you have never played this game, you should definately try it out, especially if you like the newer rpgs.
