Though this game never got very popular, many hardcore gamers could consider this the best game ever, set aside from OOT

User Rating: 10 | Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars SNES
Seven Stars was the first and greatest Mario RPG. No other game could match its style, its push of system capabilities, its plot, or its intense fun. It's very hard for me to hold onto any one game for too long, but I willingly played Seven Stars near its end many times, and when I did get around to beating it, I went back to beat it again. Gameplay: The game shoves all of Mario's coolest abilities into a zesty turn-based package, then it adds in the abilities of several more characters, all very amusing to grab up. Seven Stars even took a spin on the turn-base formula by throwing in a 'critical hit' and block timing. As if the standard play wasn't good enough, the game is chocked far beyond the brim with mini-games. From the Mario Party-style Yoshi Racing to the music composing with Toadofsky, no RPG ever released before this game, and possibly no RPG released after, has achieved this fine balance and great use of extras. The game also holds its set of extras, including a town full of friendly monsters. Graphics: Another part of Seven Stars that pushes through the roof is the spit-shine graphics. The graphics of this game were a strong 3d, definately beating out all other SNES games, even Donkey Kong Country, and clearing out the current release playstation titles at it. Sound: The sound is a mix of relaxing tunes and intense beats well set to each situation. The music holds variety enough for an RPG, but good intent and repetition enough for a good Mario game. Value: This game may last a good while, depending on the player's skill or will to stretch the game out. It also has decent replay value, especially if you find a text hack on a rom of it (writer's note: retired systems and games are legal to download by American copyright, so there's nothing wrong with getting SMRPG now). Tilt: As I said before, I'm unfocused when it comes to playing games thoroughly, but this game had me going through twice. It's simply a preferable game, and I mark it as my personal favorite game for its every nitch of perfection.
