Everyone's Favorite Game Hero And His First Big Hit !
If i am not mistaken this was how i got into video games back in the day . This game is solid , the controls are highly responsive , the simple run and stomp mechanics of the game are very pleasant and may appeal to all ages . Mario is also aided by power-ups like Fireball , as the name suggest enables Mario to shoot Fireballs on his advancing foes and Star Power which makes Mario invincible for some time . The enemies vary quite a bit and the level design is mostly excellent . They vary from open world , to dungeon like enclosed levels with lava boiling below to sky levels with platforms to traverse on . There are hidden areas too which may help you skip a few levels ahead or hidden power-ups which can aid you in your mission if you manage to find them . The game music is very well done and is still among my top video game themes ever ! I am not much demanding towards the graphics of the game considering this one is from the golden years of the NES but surprisingly the game's graphics still look appealing to me till date !
Overall Super Mario Bros. is among my top favorite NES games and still one of my favorite games of all times .
