Super Mario Bros. was the game that got Nintendo up on their feet, and it still holds up well to this date.

Today is my birthday! HOORAY! So here it is, my birthday review.

Years ago, there was a crashed video game market thanks to several low quality titles on the Atari 2600, like ET, Pac-man, Custer's Revenge, and more. When Nintendo unveiled the NES, people were afraid. Then Shigeru Miyamoto created Super Mario Bros. which not only revived the video game industry, but created arguably the most famous video game character of all time, MARIO! And now you can play it in all it's glory on the Virtual Console. Let's see how it did.

The graphics were fine for the NES. After all, it was the NES's first game. Besides, graphics don't make the game, gameplay does.

The controls are tight. Nintendo showed how to make awesome controls. For the Wiimote, you use the control pad to move, 2 button to jump, and 1 to run. If I did have to complain about the controls, it would be the trampoline. IT doesn't feel tight enough.

There are plenty of secrets to discover, and things to find. There are hidden 1-UP mushrooms to find, and secret warp pipes to warp you to different worlds(hint, on the platforms in world 1-2, go above the blocks, and you'll find a warp zone)

The game's difficulty is hard. Not because of the levels, but because lives are difficult to find. Kids might not like this game because of how hard it is, but if you grew up with this game, or if you like old school games(like me) then you will enjoy this game.

THE VERDICT!

Super Mario Bros. is a fantastic game that still holds up today. If you haven't downloaded this yet, go do yourself a favor and download it now!
