will change the way fighting games are played

User Rating: 8.1 | Street Fighter Zero 2 SNES
Not only did this game forever change the way we played at arcades, it also lured a huge mass of casual gamers into the home gaming market. like Pac man in the early days, this game had arcade fiends racing to get a SNES. Now Im sure I dont have to tell you how street fighter 2 hit the arcade scene like a comet, and pushed the industry forward at a rate so fast that you could hardly count the clones out there. In fact, I dont think any game in history has been duplicated as many times as SF2. The arcade scene enters another golden age which was to be its last.

Much like the arcade version brought in quarters by the canyonfull, the SNES version was the beginning of the end for the good old days of joysticks and quarters. I, myself was so anxious to get this game that I ordered the Super Famicom version from a game importer. Me and a buddy of mine went through the same company. The game cost us each a whopping 99.99, but we got it in june compared to everyone else who had to wait till the end of august. It was worth it!!!!!!!

when I first popped the game in I was shocked at how well it ported to the SNES. I was expecting to lose something in the translation you know, either by cutting one of the bosses or losing some backgrounds. Nope, it was all there in all its glory, to my amazement. All I knew was that I had spent my last quarter at the arcade. It was funny seeing people that I knew, that had never owned a home console in thier lives, now flocking to the stores to get a SNES. Most of those people went on to upgrade to new home systems and still play to this day. Many props to capcom, a true innovator in the biz, whether its the SF2s of yesterday or the Resident Evil 4s of today, they have always helped lead the way.
