Growing up I was an avid Star wars fan. I spent many hours playing the original battlefront and battlefront 2 with my cousins and friends. We loved those games, those games show that simplistic games with a few good modes could provide hours of entertainment.
BUT, the new battlefront tries to do the bare bones and fails! Now, I'm not asking for some rip off of CoD or anything. But there is absolutely no strategy in the multiplayer or any need to keep playing other than to grind away for new games. On top of this, sometimes the game can be completely baffling. Especially if you play single player "battles". Where the hard mode is too easy, but the master mode will show you that the devil is real. The AI's on your team are so frustratingly stupid you have to turn them off, OR YOU WILL LOSE. The mode is like a "kill confirmed" where you must pick up enemy tags in order to reach 100 points and win. But good luck, more than once I have been on a rampage and gotten the score to be 85 to o. Only to suddenly get killed in bizarre ways back to back.
The only redeeming quality of this game is the mode heroes vs. Villains or Hero hunt, where you can play as Luke, Han, or Leia. These modes are pretty fun, but not quite worth the high price tag of a horrible game.
Reminds me of the crappy games we got on the SNES back in the day... just those were still classic.
