I have thoroughly enjoyed this game to date. Playing each race is a different experience, as each culture has ship bonuses/weaknesses & different upgrade paths, in addition to differing special weapons available when enough research has accumulated. Epic battles are fought, systems are conquered and ships & structures are built to maintain the Empire each ruler attempts to construct. Rivals must be blocked and eventually eliminated to achieve victory. Sounds are show-realistic although generic voice talent is utilized. I tried each race on 'Easy' before attempting 'Medium' difficulty to learn specific strategies for victory with each species although I have yet to try the 'Hard' setting to conquer the game. I have very much enjoyed this offering and would recommend it to anyone seeking a turn-based strategy game set in the 'Star Trek' universe for the PlayStation 2.
