Spyro: Year of the Dragon is the last Spyro game to be released on the Playstation and is the last game in the series to be developed by Insomniac Games. The story has Spyro looking for dragon eggs that were stolen by an evil sorceress. The game has pretty much stayed unchanged. You still are collecting things, fighting enemies, and playing mini-games which are still fun to do. The graphics still look good and the music and voice acting are still good. Something new to the series is the inclusion of new playable characters. You can now play as a kangaroo who can jump higher than Spyro, a penguin who can fly and shoot missiles, a yeti who can smash things with his ice club and move heavy objects, and a monkey with a laser gun. The only problem with the game is that there is to much like the other games.
Overall, Spyro: YOTD is a great game that fans of Spyro, and the genre should definitely have in their collection.
