Spyro must yet again save the Dragon Realms from evil.
The story follows Spyro and his dragnofly buddy Sparx as they are talking to the Professor who is explaining to them that weird things known as Dark Gems which are gems that drain the life out of areas are appearing throughout the many areas of the Dragon Relams and what makes it worst is that a old dragon named Red is behind this problem as he was once a Dragon Elder until something happened so now Spyro must try to save the Dragon Realms from this event to have them fall into the darkness.
Like all the Spyro games before this game has the popluar collecting stuff throughout the four realms you visit in the game as there is Light Gems which are used to activite gadgets and open secret areas , Dark Gems are things that you must destroy to bring peace back to the areas , Dragon Eggs that can be found in areas or taken back from the thieves as collecting eggs of a full set with unlock special stuff like mini games , concept art and other stuff and finally collect the gems around the areas as they can be used to buy things in Moneybag's shop.
Spyro has many new tricks which include new breath powers aside from his famos fire breath as now he can use Electricity , Water and Ice but he needs to defeat bosses to get the new breathes plus he gets new skills that the Dragon Elders teach him either it be Horm Drive or a Wing Shield but at times Spyro needs to call on the help of his friends as you get to play as four other characters as there is Hunter who can use a bow and arrow to hit foes or switches at far off distance , Sgt.Bryd can take to the skies to take on challenges while Blink can explore below ground and finally there is Sparx who can take part in a shooting style mini game so that's always fun.
This as I said before really enjoyed this game and also to mention that this one is one of the last games on the Playstation 2 before the series was rebooting back in 2006 to start the Legend of Spyro series so if you like the old series or your just a fan of the little purple dragon then give this game a look into as it is worth your money
