How Gamespot can give this game a 6.5 is beyond me.... The best 3rd person shooter to hit the market in years for sure!

If you are a long time fan of SOCOM, but were dissapointed with the 4th installment, this game can definately give you that feeling. Well, minus a jump feature (although you can scale walls and obstacles within a certain distance).

I was hesitant at first when I heard a new Spec Ops game was going to hit the market, I can honestly say I didn't preorder it, but I just happened to be in the store I picked it up at the 1st day the game released.

I have been looking for a 3rd person shooter with solid gameplay, and some originality while still not trying to modernize shooters even more then they have already become. This game hit it right on the head with ALMOST every aspect!

In my opinion the only two things that could have made this game better and might have even gotten a 9.5 are first the before mentioned (no designated jump anywhere button), and I HATE snap to cover systems... especially ones that make you stand at inopurtune times if you hit the wrong area of the wall, and the fact that getting into and out of (trying to sprint from a grenade) are at times extremely frustrating.

Those two problems however do not take away from the pinpoint gameplay, or slow down the action.

I played through the game on Suicide Mission my first playthrough (the hardest difficulty available from the start), and it felt right in almost every way.

I have not dived into multiplayer yet, so my score of 9 stands for the CAMPAIGN ONLY up to this point.

I like to give seperate scores to campaign and multiplayer because in most games they strongly differ.

For the campaign alone I would have payed $60 for this game though, so I feel I already got my money worth. It was outstanding :)
