A Good Enough Game, but it ends on a Cliffhanger.

For some reason, Mario is allowed to try just about anything he wants to, but all Sonic is ever 'allowed' to do is speed games from the Sega Genesis days. Well for once, Sonic dives into the R.P.G. realm, and while not as excellent as Mario's R.P.G. outings, Sonic can hold his own. This game features Sonic, Amy, Tails, Rouge, Big the Cat, Knuckles, Cream the Rabbit, Dr. Eggman, Shadow, E-123 Omega, and Shade the Echidna. This game is all about stopping an evil Echidna race, called the Nocturnus Clan, from using the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald, in an evil plot to break out from their prison of the Twilight Realm and conquering the Mobius Planet! The story is good, the music and sound is good, the graphics are good, and while having to always use the touch screen is a little annoying at first, you eventually get used to the control scheme. You'll have to dash, smash, fly, sneak, teleport, climb, and even use the invulnerability skill of Big in order to figure out all the many different puzzles of this game. And for gamers who might initially stay away from this game because it 'doesn't' have speed; if you beat the game once, you can replay the game with all of the items, Chao, and stats that you acquired after beating the game once, and you can do a speed-run of the game! While this game is an interesting change of pace for Sonic, the one major drawback of this game is that the game ends on a cliffhanger. I really would've liked to see how Sonic and his friends ended up prevailing against Dr. Eggman. It sure would be nice if Bioware ever got the chance to work with Sega again in order to finish the story, but because so many die-hard Sonic fans are 'purist,' it will probably never happen. At least Bioware was willing to take a chance and do something different, to prove that Sonic can do different things just as well as Mario can. This is a good game for anyone who wants to play Sonic in an R.P.G. video game! Enough said, true believers!
