A great Sonic game that stays true to the Sonic gameplay

User Rating: 9.4 | Sonic Advance 3 GBA
Sonic Advance 3 is a great Sonic game that manages to stay true to the classic Sonic formula while adding quite a few new gameplay elements along with it. This game is recomendable to veterans and newcomers alike.

The gameplay is like a combination of the clasic 2D Sonic games and Sonic Heroes. You start the game off as Sonic and Tails, and unlock Knuckles, Amy and Cream later on making 25 different teams. There are 7 zones you must complete that consist of a map, 3 acts (levels) a boss and 2 mini-games. You choose a character to play as and a partner which give you different moves. Also, pressing the R button will roll up your partner into a ball let you use one of 2 special moves depending on if you're in the air or on the ground.

The graphics in this game look great. The character sprites resemble their characters very closely. The level design looks even better. They're very long, and include a lot of detail. Levels such as Toy Kingdom look bright and cheerful, while others such as Ocean Base look dark and gloomy.

The music in this game is just amazing. Whether it be the Green Hill remix in Sunset Hill, the catchy tune that play in the Cyber Track, or the eerie music that plays in Chaos Angel, you,ll be finding yourself humming the music. Most Sonic games have amazing music, and this is no exception. The sound effects are great too. You can expect the normal sound effects such as the spin dash charging and the boing effect whenever you hit a spring.

This game has to be one of the longest available for the GBA. While the story mode itself isn't that long, there's always some thing to bring you back.
You can try to collect all of the chao in each zone to fight the final boss and get all of the gold medal times for each act and boss. Plus, there's a multi player mode for if you have a GBA cable link.

Overall, this is a great game that should be played by veterans and newcomers alike.
