'Erm... uhm.. what?'

User Rating: 5 | Persona 4 PS2
I don't get it. I read lots of praise about this game series before trying it myself, and my friend who got me into ps2 gaming was raving about it. First I tried Persona 3 and found it boring, and switched to Persona 4 hoping that it would be better. I am about 4 hours into this game and I can't find a singe quality that I like about it. I mean I'm paralelly playing Final Fantasy X and what a game it is, Persona 4 compared to it is.. like poor man's Sims meet children's game (the teddy bear ugh).

Story - I have seen this kinda story in other games and movies, I mean it's nothing special, what are ppl raving about? It would be cool if they made a Twin Peak-esque game, but this.. And what's up with the teddy bear?

Characters - they are somewhat shallow and annoying. Before you even get to play something you have to listen to boring dialogue and press x for each line to disappear for about 2 hours. It takes like 5 seconds for a character to say 'uhm..ehm.. what?' It's like - OK I GOT IT, WHAT'S THE NEXT LINE FOR F SAKE.

Visually this game is, like I said before, a poor man's Sims. I'm not a graphics person but really, ps2 is capable of a lot more than that (should I mention FFX again?).

I couldn't care about the characters, I couldn't care about the story, I couldn't care about the battles. I couldn't care about anything in this game. Maybe it takes anime fan to enjoy this game?
