Persona 3 Portable undeniable charm and presentation is on par with the original and in some aspects even better!

User Rating: 9 | Persona 3 Portable PSP
Persona 3 was originaly released for the PS2 about 3 years ago and it was a big hit, so after a while Atlus released an enhanced version called FES.
And while P3P do not feature an extra storyline called ''The answer'' that was included in Persona 3 FES, it has its improvments over both P3 and P3 FES.

First of all you can now direct control your party members actions during battle, yeah just like in Persona 4.

You can use the same square button feature of Persona 4 too, that is a feature to quick move to a location on the map so you don't need to lose any time wandering aimlessly.

There is a new female protagonist avaiable too, like the game itself suggests, the female protagonist is not only for women to play, but also for veteran players of Persona 3 who wants a whole new game perspective. Playing as the girl you have a whole lot of new social links, not to mention that pratically the whole story perspective changes, people will refer to you accordingly to your sex, making some scenes completely different from one protagonist to the other.
Also Elizabeth, the Velvet room ( that is a room to summon, fuse and create Personas)woman is replaced with a man named Theodore if you are playing as a girl.

Battles are fast and flashy turn-based and did not change at all prior to Persona 3 (except for the ability to direct control your comrades).
If you did not played P3 in the PS2, now is your chance to experience a truly rich and entertaining RPG experience, and if you played it already this is a great oportunity to enjoy P3P new features!

Now one feature that may disappoint some and please others, you no longer can have your character walk around the school and other locations like you did before, but don`t worry I too was reluctant when I saw this but after playing it I noticed that it just made the game feel more quick and enjoyable to a portable platform. Like I said, now you only highlight objects, people etc that you want to interact with and press the X button.

It`s important to say that you will be most playing P3P from a first-person perspective except for the giant dungeon tower Tartarus.
Tartarus is largely unchanged, you still explore it in a isometric 3rd person view, but a whole lot of cutscenes have been removed and replaced with a static background and anime portraits of the characters that you speak with.
There`s still the same and great voice-acting so you don`t need to worry.

If you are wondering if Persona 3 Portable is worth getting, cleanse your mind of all the worries; P3P is an addictive Sim-Date/RPG and clearly one of the best of the genre to ever come to the PSP, you should not fear the lack of free movement on the map like P3 had. This version can easily be considered the best of the three released so far.

P3P has an immersive story and is a addicting deep experience, that is both engaging and challenging.
You will no doubt be getting more than you money is worth here, It`s just impressive to think of a 4.7 Gb game fitting so faithfuly well in a 1.8 Gb max UMD!
