You know how you think you've played the best RPG ever in a FF game? You're wrong, because it's Persona 3.

User Rating: 10 | Persona 3: Fes PS2
Graphics - Excellent anime style, great creatures, great everything. Looks great all the way through.

Sound - Voice acting is really good. Humourous and passionately delivered. The shining star here, however, is the sound track. Really great upbeat, energetic dance and hip hop music wonderfully layed over every aspect of the game. The fights are so much more entrancing with great music pumping you up.

Gameplay - Perfect. There's really nothing more I can say about it. It's just perfect. I'll elaborate, however. The fusion of the social aspect of the game is a really great twist, where your actions in the real world have a noticable impact on your persona fusions, they can up your stats, the stats of your personas or your teammates. It makes for very engaging side tasks, which could've failed if all the characters in the game weren't so varied and fleshed out. In the real world, the people are happy, angry, depressed, and pretty much run the gamut from simple fun conversations, to important, serious life issues. Each character feels like it's a real person you're dealing with. The writing is truly wonderful.

In battle, you only control the main character, and the other members of your party are computer controled, which may sound like a bad idea (like in FF XII; awful game if you ask me), but in this game, they take actions and react to what happens. For example, if a member casts a wind attack on an enemy and the enemy deflects or absorbs it, they won't do it again. It's a really great system that ends up working very well. If you played through Digital Devil Saga, you'll remember that elemental weaknesses play an important part in the Shim Megami Tensei universe. With this in place, a battle that would have been thoroughly in your favour can end up destroying your party if you make the wrong move. This aspect makes every battle feel that much more important, and keeps the action from getting stale.

Plus, there's a whole ton of personas to create, weapons to fuse, side quests to embark on, and just so much to do. You defintely get your money's worth, considering there's a 70 hour quest followed by an additional 30 quest attached to the FES addition.

Overall - Best RPG ever. I can't wait for 4.
