Give the old arcade feeling that was lost for a long time.
Story: Like its previous one these games also contain a story. And the story is not that significant (seriously if you are a fan of brawler game you really don't need any special reason to beat your enemy up). The story is showing that shank again lost one of his favorite person, a person he really care for, a woman who was the caretaker of his orphanage. (I really don't know what kind of stupid criminal organization exists in this game, that they find no one except some relative or friend of a crazy chainsaw expert who like to open people open up.) Any way you can understand the rest of the story. Shank goes to rescue her and open up whomever dare to stand on his way like a soda can. This time the main goon is General Mangoos . If you really want to know how he become so powerful go to Klei website and you will find a nice little comic book and you will probably find out almost everything what happen during the time space of this two game.
Gameplay: Well the gameplay is not much different from the previous one. Just like the previous one you can utilize your small, heavy and range weapon to perform different length of combo. They add some new weapon and also strip some of the weapon which was available on the previous game. Chainsaw, machete, shotgun and pistol are available in this game that also existed on the previous game. Chain is not available in this game but you can use Sledgehammer. This is newly introduced in this game. And really brutal too. This game introduces a new tactic named counter. Yes, in this game you can perform some counter move and neutralize your enemy by different brutal way. You can also use your enemy's weapon after they die and they are very effective for crowd control (I like the new shovel and its brutally awesome.) And in this game Klei introduce a new character name "Corina" (Shank's new love interest) and she is also the playable character for some mission. But if you like her most you can play as "Corina" in the survival mode. Yes, there is a new survival mode in this new one and you can co-op with your buddy to beat your enemy which is really fun to play and very addictive. You can buddy up by using LAN or internet or you can use your own pc by sharing an extra gamepad. Unfortunately there are only three level and that pretty much disappointing. You can use your unlocked character for this mode and in this game each and every character has their own strength and weakness. Overall the gameplay experience is excellent.
Enemies: Well there are many enemies to satisfy your brutal need. There are brutes, hot chicks and small enemy like the previous one. The new one adds some more enemies like the dwarf and fatsos. And each of the enemy has their own way to engage you. Whatever tactic they has you don't have to think about that because you are play as shank and in this game and all you have to do is crash them, bang them and throw them. Yap you can throw each and every enemy except the boss, which was not possible on the previous game.
Conclusion: At the end I can say one thing; this game is really fun to play. I don't know why this game is so underrated. You have to understand that this is a 2D side scrolling brawler and it pretty much give you what its promised to give, a fun brutal experience. And the new survival mode add some more addictive gameplay hour that make the game really fun and enjoyable.
