Shadow Ops had a good chance of being great but they dropped the ball bigtime.

Shadow Ops is a perfect example of what not to do in a FPS. It is completely linear game that looks like it should have been on the N64. The graphics are outdated and are quite flaky most of the time, the gameplay is shallow and repetitive, and the story is just stupid. For those that want to know, Shadow Ops is about a portable weapon of mass destruction and some guys trying to get it back from the bad guys. Yea, it's not very unique. My biggest problem with the game is that it's really glitchy. Sometimes you'll find peoples arms going through walls sometimes you get shot through walls. The list is endless, and frankly not worth mentioning. Gameplay consists of chucking grenades, ducking, peaking around corners, and shooting that's about it. As you might be able to tell it gets boring after a couple of hours. It wouldn't be very bad if your friendly AI was actually intellegent, but there not and they don't die. I've seen a enemy and my friendly AI shoot at each other at point blank and nothing happened. Xbox Live is a joke. It's so laggy that you can't see anything and will literally die all the time from invisible enemies. Your probably wondering is anything in this game good? Yes, there actually is. The audio is very well done it was even a little strange to hear such good music in such a medicore game. The coop mode is ok but at least they included one it's more worth while to go through that with a friend than go through the entire campaign. Other than that the game basically sucks. I wouldn't even suggest that you pick it out of a bargin bin unless you have a desperate fix for a FPS and you own every other one out there.
