Fast paced, action orientated, decent story and eye candy.

I was really excited about this game. I figured it would be a fully blown RPG, like Fallout 3. It's not. Imagine Fable (the first one), where you could really only go on the paths, but there were multiple paths. In this game, there is only path. And you have to follow that path. Choices that you make in the game don't really seem to have an effect in the outcome of the game.

It's a fast paced game, with a lot of enemies rushing you at the same time - which gets fun especially when your wielding a mace. I like the slo-mo feature, which activates when you burst someone's skull, chop someone in half or spear and execute enemies. You can still move the camera, so you have a 360 view of the opponent's death.

The story is all right, but I found myself predicting what would happen. It could be polished up a little though, and obscufated a little more, to make it all more immersing. The voice acting though, was terrible. The characters did not seem to speak from heart which did ruin the story. Hearing Jason damming someone before killing them would be a lot more spectacular if he wasn't do calm. In the game, there is a several second pause between one character's line and another, which gets very annoying.

The renderer is pretty. All the models are high resolution and the game performs well. But then, that is because it doesn't have to do other things that a true RPG does, such as crunching constant AI behavior.

The one demise of this game was the camera. At first, I thought their intention was to help. Especially in the last level, where the boss constantly moving. I quickly became frustrated as the camera (slowly) rotated the target every time, throwing off aim and running into the spells. It took me 2 hours to complete the final level one Legend because I kept dying.

Another thing I found annoying was that you can only have two Argonaughts following you. The entire troop would have been much more fun. But then, the game would get way to easy. I completed the entire thing on Legend (and it came out yesterday).

All in all, it's a good game if you were no't expecting much. For me, I felt that it was a disappointment. I liked the idea of traverssing Greece, Persia, Egypt as Jason, with my band of Argonaughts. Instead, I got a concrete story which I had to follow and not much adventure of my own. The game also has no replay value.

Definitely a rent, more than a buy.
