This game is definatly an underrated games, unlike the very famous need for speeds which were horrible, Ridge Racer is
# Ok, no if u didn't play ridge racer b4, its all about Drifts, and a score style drift but racing talents lies in drifts, pretty much like rally games, where tight turning and correct drifts gives u a major boost against opponents.
# Of course when some1 hears that the game is about drift turning, u constantly jump to the conclusion that it has vicious turns, BUT NO, the tracks are extremely great..U get like only 3-5 very tight turns per track, and they are not hard at all, in fact u will be wishing it had more turns like it, cause u will drift them like a king.
# The drift control is GREAT, and u have 3 main type of cars, Standard drift (Low Sensitivity) ,Moderate Drift (Medium sensitivity) & Dynamic Drift (High Sensitivity), It depends on ur playing style.
# The difficulty is just right, its not too hard nor too easy.
# The game consists of 3 tours: Basic,Pro & Ex-Pro ..u will end up with a total of 39 Round, including special tracks. Each round consists of 3-6 races, its not point style, but each race have a rank requirement, last track in the round requires first place, the track b4 it requires second place...etc
# The game also has special rounds, which are very fun to play.. The Sound wasn't that good, u have 5 CD's ,but u will end up with 3-5 good tracks (Personal Opinion). 2 of the CD's are track on previous Ridge Racer versions.
# The Draw Backs, the tracks are VERRY REPEATED, they are only a few, which have slightly change "Reverse, close a tunnel and open another, ...etc" ...Another draw back is CAR COLLISIONS. its physics sucks whenever u hit a car, the car gets a MAAD BOOST.
# I didn't try multiplayer, so no comment....The game is quite awesome, I consider it to be a must have.
** Ridge Racer Vs. Burnout: Well definalty Burnout has a higher Fun factor, due to extreme speeds, takedowns & Pursuits. Burnout is also longer, has a wide variety of tracks. Ridge Racer on the other hand has a realistic factor, correct turning physics, NO TRAFFIC, which really puts u in the race environment.
