Burnout Paradise clone called Ridge Racer Unbounded is great

User Rating: 8.5 | Ridge Racer Unbounded PS3
The Ridge Racer franchise is known for its simple arcade gameplay in which you do not have to do much more than just accelerating and drifting. On the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita are the last parts basically unchanged in intent, but comes with Ridge Racer: unbounded substantial change. The simple gameplay is thrown overboard to make room for a totally different kind of racer in realistic environments. This could be the franchise in one level to the ground, it can also be the franchise to new heights do lifting.

This is applicable for Ridge Racer: unbounded, because it may be little substance to the earlier parts to do, the gameplay in itself is very strong. So much so that with this game is a very interesting and fun racer in your home. In recent months there are not many great racing games and appeared to fill that void, this title is the game of choice just to consider and that is because the game has to offer you very much.

The game is set in the fictional town of Bay Shatter and chaos reigns here. This chaos results in racing, because you get to a certain extent free rein in this great city to enjoy a look around to go racing. Your ultimate goal is obviously to win all the races and then you will also have to do in various parts of the city. Shatter Bay is divided into different areas and each area must have a certain number of races completed before you unlock the next quarter. Your goal is to eventually win every race and you will see some time doing.

The number of races that the single dishes out is quite strong and in addition also varied, making it only more interesting. This allows you to drive a traditional race, with first across the finish line is sufficient. There are also disciplines found under the heading: Drift Attack, Attack Frag, Domination and more. Drift Attack is simply drifting as much as possible during a race, with Frag Attack your opponents will have to disable them for objects to beech and so on. In terms of the variation is certainly good and that such alternate races on different tracks you will not get bored and that is always positive.

The control of the game is quite awkward at first, because the cars are really different to drive than usual. Not so much in terms of control with the controller, but rather the response of the cars on what you do with your controller is doing than what you're used to. That does not, however, because with some practice you will notice that the game plays fine. Although the drives after all, very difficult with this setup. Separately, we must not forget that this game is easy. Where you in the traditional Ridge Racer parts never really much effort will have to be the first to reach the finish can be tricky in this game.

The opponents are formidable competitors because really that tricky, you can and will make, but fortunately we have resources. By drifting or other actions to carry out a gauge will rise. Once this bit is sufficiently full, you can use a boost with the result that significantly increases your speed again. Risk is that you thus more with the environment issues and that's just an interesting point of this game. In many racing games are small trees and walls of concrete. Excruciatingly annoying if you drive against it and the race is actually equal misjudged.

In Ridge Racer: unbounded gives you the freedom to destroy the environment. Now that is not your main objective, but if you put a bend too short slit and see a concrete wall a few feet high fast approaching, you'll have little to fear, because the car will have little difficulty getting through rage. Besides that you are hard at racing through the city you're behind a large trail of destruction behind. Furthermore, there are certain moments which can be activated, which results in a fat effect. Think of the opportunity to cut through a building to drive much destruction as a result.

This will give you alternative routes and that in some races still well be useful. However if you have the special power-up above do not activate and you still drive on the 'marked' wall then chances are that you race monster that you're racing to scrap reduces. It is clear here that good timing is involved and use your brains is also quite useful. Ridge Racer is unbounded in terms of racing at first getting used to, but if you've mastered you get presented with a beautiful world destruction, varying races and a good challenge. Sufficient for a good racing game, but we get more.

The so-called "City Creator" makes its appearance in this game and this allows you to assemble its own track. This is not as deep as example ModNation Racers, but nevertheless it is a nice feature. After startup you get presented with a grid and this grid can each block a piece of a job. You can play all over and if you've determined the route, then you can configure the track completely. Only one route up is fun, but not enough. Challenge we need and that can be added by constrictions, ramps and much more.

As you progress in the single player is available, you will get many more items to your own track again sharply pimp. This can be simple parts to large obstacles, downside is that you get this much time to invest in the singleplayer. Maybe one less point for those new to the creative part of the game off. On the other hand delivers knocking out the single player with the capabilities of the City Creator is a huge playing where you do not quickly get bored.

If you have a track, you'll then be able to share online. On your own track, you can even create their own challenges as a goal of being a race and it's always nice to just use your own creation in a race with other players from around the world and you're always free to adjustments. In addition, Namco Bandai will also complete various challenges which lengthens the play time even more and if you all here do not feel like there is a regular with enough variation in traditional multiplayer modes.

Ridge Racer: unbounded is ultimately an ambitious project that really has become the tradition of the franchise gets. Fortunately this is a positive way, because if you're looking for an extensive and varied racer then you're good. Graphic is not a high flyer, but it is far from bad to mention. The soundtrack including tracks from Skrillex is very enjoyable and the City Creator is a fun and fine addition. The variation we also find in the gameplay is more than enough and that makes this outing of the franchise to a very good success.
