I guess you could say tha Ridge Racer is a typical arcade-racer. The kind of arcade racer where you can throw in as many coins as you like, you are never going to win. Maybe that is why they put a picture of a Japanese woman on the coverart and menuscreens, haha.
The tracks are from the original ridge racer from the playstation. Offcourse the graphics are much better on the nintendo 64. Ridge Racer 64 also has some exclusive tracks in a desert environment. The gameplay is very basic and not realistic. The most important thing is not to hit te walls, because you loose your speed. The speed is very fast so this game is much more like F-zero then, say, Gran Tourismo.
Personally i was done with this game within a week. There are many better racegames ou there, this becomes boring pretty fast.
