Marshmellow Peep of a game

The good news: There aren't many calories, it's tasty, and it goes by rather quickly.

The bad news: There's little nutritional value, it's the same tasty taste as say the past twenty-odd years in my life, and it goes by rather quickly.

I really liked this game, especially at the beginning. The world is amazing, there's so much to explore visually and audio-ally. The npcs wander around and provide a vibrance that is much often lacking and that lack mocked in standard RPGs.I have to say that the story was a plus for me. The main character has a certain flair that made the story enjoyable on top of the humor liberally applied to the whole sha-bang. The combat system is a little funky. It's new enough, but I think as a defensive player I was not given enough options for say "healing."

Other gripes: traveling, scale, and +game. I won't talk about the +game, it just was disappointing. Unfortunately the end game didn't scale well. At a major point I found I had to suddenly level...and that was it. I was golden for the rest of the game. And traveling, so it's an immersive world, that is good. Unfortunately it was built almost one dimensionally so most areas you had to follow a path through other areas to get to. To be fair, it's really two dimensional map-wise, but the roads really could have been more open.

It's fun, it's fast, and it may be worth owning...or renting if you can log enough hours in over a weekend. Completionists will have a lot to do with this game, but I like exploration and I got my fair share out of that the first run.
