Even if it is over 20 years old, this game STILL KICKS ASS!

This game came out in 1987. I haven’t played it until 2009. Now you would think that such an old boxing game would suck, right? WRONG! I bought the game for the virtual console since I heard that the Wii version was coming out. I tried it, I was so amazed! Hell, with the funny stereotyped characters and the stupid things that Doc says, you sometimes forget that this is a NES game. The action is fast paced; each fighter has his own pattern (it’s like a puzzle in a way). You fight your way to the top as Little Mac, facing opponents that are 5-10x your size. The reason for the size is that the NES was too limited to have a wire frame boxer, so they made your player small and other guys big to be able to see your opponent. This graphical limitation actually made the story more epic: Being a little boxer and taking down the big guys! It’s actually pretty cool. The game is simple yet can get challenging. You can block, dodge, low punch and high punch, and even uppercut opponents if the time is right. Some opponents have a certain way of being defeated. Figure it all out, and then you get to face a white version of Mike Tyson! Uhhhh, yays? Anyway, if you have an NES and a classic game store near you, or a Wii and some Wii points, GET THIS GAME! Hell you don’t even have to be a big fan of boxing, you can still enjoy all the funny ass boxers.
