Get Back Up With Extra Health

When knocked down, you can press A and B repeatedly to try and get back up. Normally when you do this, you'll only have some of your health. However, if you do this so that you get up when the referee's count is at a certain number, you'll instead get back up with more health!

In the Minor Circuit, get up on an even number. You get extra (but not all) your health.

In the Major Circuit, get up on 7, 8, or 9. You get extra health, or full health if you fight King Hippo.

In the World Circuit, get up on 9. You get extra health, or full health on Mr. Sandman and Mr. Macho Man. (If you get up on 8 though, you actually get less, so beware!)

When fighting Mike Tyson, get up on 9. You will usually get full health, except for your third time doing this (you still get more than normal though).

Losing life before fight starts

If you press select or shift on a pc or computer before the fight starts not between rounds before round one if you press select you will lose heath although if you press select in round conversations with doc Louis press select and you will regain life.

Heal Between Matches

In-between fights, when Doc is talking to Little Mac to cheer him on and psyche him up for the next round, and while the opponent is talking.

Beat Don Flamenco With This Easy Trick

You can beat Don Flamenco by hitting hit when he taunts you, then after dodging his uppercut, alternate between left and right punches. He won't stop until you take him down. Rinse and repeat, and he will go down. The 2nd Don Flamenco learned his lesson, but didn't learn much. Just when he taunts you and you do it. Just do a left punch, a left punch, and a right punch, and keep doing this.

Beat Piston Honda with one punch

In the second fight against Piston Honda it is possible to win the bout by scoring only one punch. Dodge his punches but don't retaliate. Then when he goes into his Piston Punch routine, hit him in the stomach like in the first fight. As in the first bout, if you time it right he'll be down. Unlike the first fight however, he will be too unsteady to keep his feet. I've even seen him be unable to get up. Just keep in mind that the charging time for his Piston Punch routine is a lot shorter so you really have to time it just right or you'll just end up taking major damage.

Recovering

To gain some health before a round, press 'Select' as fast as you can on the screen before the SECOND or THIRD round starts. This will cause Doc to pound on Mac's shoulder faster and your damage will be lowered. This only works once per match, use wisely.
