Punch Out has aged well, really well.

User Rating: 8.5 | Punch-Out!! NES
Punch Out! used to star mike tyson back in the NES days, but for the VC release they had no longer got the license. So Nintendo slapped on a new name for the famous boxer and released the game again.

Gameplay 10
The gameplay is very simple, 2 buttons for left and right punches, up for a head punch, down for a block, and sides for dodging. If you are a boxing fan and you want to run down a oppenent; sorry but the game acts like a reaction based puzzle game. All the different characters have thier own style, and even a special unique move that if you know what to do, you can knock them out. For example: the first boxer, Glass Joe taunts at one time by knocking his jaw when he is going to punch. You have to simply knock him at the head for a instant KO.

Fun 9
Is the gameplay fun? Well I find it enjoyable working out each oppenents weakness. Im not going to spoil them to anyone. Just pointing out this game is very fun. However once you beat one boxer, you can beat him again and again and ......

Replay value 8
This game relys on you trying and trying again until you work out each boxer. However once you beat the game, there is little forcing you to go back and play it exept just for a small bit of fun. The game becomes boring when you know the weakness for every character.

Graphics 8.5
The graphics are smooth and colourful and represent each character very well. The graphics look great even in this day.

Sound 7.5
Each character has thier own music and sound effects. The music is usually great and lively. However, the sound effects whilst good at first, can get really annoying.

Overall this game is very charming with great gameplay.

+Excellent gameplay

Cons
