Prototype 1.5

I have to be honest, I loved the first Prototype. I didnt even notice the bland graphics or lack of story (okay, I noticed the lack of story), because the game was just so engrossing. Outside of the Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction games from last gen, I had never experienced the feeling of raw power, which Mercer had in spades.

Power, is the name of the second installment as well. The only difference is it's not quite as challenging as last time. The Just right difficulty is based on me playing on hard, and while in general the game is fairly easy, due to Heller being ridiculosly over-powered, it does have it's moments where surviving isn't so easy. But there is never any real sense of danger because most of your enemies a) are just normal soldiers, one hit, can obliterate them and b) they are all incredibly stupid. You have the option of changing forms just like in the last one, but none of the enemies seem to bat an eye at a doctor gliding 500 feet through the air or running straight up the side of a building. What's more you can slug it out with an entire base fr 10 minutes and run away with choppers in hot pursuit, change forms and all is forgiven. Really? You clearly saw your target scale a bldg and land on the rooftop, me ducking behind an air conditioner and changing really throws you that much, seeing that I'm the only one on top of 50 story high rise, process of elimination people, you know they shape-shift!!!

The story sucks too. Again you never really get a complete narative because you have to pick up bits and pieces through absorbsion again. But after the first 10 minutes you won't really care about the story it basically devolves into sneak here, kill this.

I will say its very entertaining, for a while, but being so overpowered really gets old after a while, only so many times you can gut a guy and still think it's novel.
