@wkadalie: Now the "key factor" lies in whether they'll mess up the remakes or make them a true spiritual remake of the original game.
Either way, it's rare for a company to know and admit that they're crap and wants to change for the better - let's just hope they have the right idea.

@Dark_sageX:
Megaman X / Zero were milked to the state of which the writer had to resort to killing off the protags to stop Capcom from milking the series any further - furthermore, Capcom seems to enjoy pretending that Megaman never exists these days. (It's becoming the new Star Fox and X should've stopped at 5)
Peeps that entered the RE series from 4 (Especially 5 onwards) are unlikely to favour the old-school RE gameplay of swinging doors and general lack of emphasize on combat - it's like saying that pre-Bethesda Fallout games would receive any love from those that entered the series from FO3 onwards.

Regardless, I wouldn't mind if they made an actual remake as suggested in the article instead of a cheap remaster cash-in and they do seem to be actually listening to their fans to a certain extent as of late.
Now the question lies in the fact of whether they could pull off a true blue remake or would they try to turn it into something similar to RE6 and whether they're just going to be heavily reliant on their old IPs instead of making new ones.

One way or the other, they did make Dragon's Dogma - that lump of gold was more than enough to forgive half of the shenanigans they've done for the past decade.

Is this mass trend of RE remakes a sign of Capcom knowing how crappy their RE games are these days?

Hope this game would end up surpassing the previous Shenmue games and wind up meeting the expectations of it's fans... and the sheer amount of money Yu Suzuki received for the project.
Flopped Kickstarter projects and Steam early access has planted a deep root of paranoia in me.
I don't know why but I have more confidence in Bloodstained for some reason or the other.

Konami - Master of the Arts of Burning Bridges and Abusing Employees.
How many of their talented development team and directors have they mistreated now?

Mirror's Edge : Catalyst

Pay 10 bucks for the option to adjust the red highlight markers around environmental objects and pay another 5 bucks to access the golden feature of being able to pick up a gun.

Oh wait, it was in the previous game and we're just removing features?

Who cares! Making lower-quality sequels is our thing!

@Donut0389: I know - personally I think it's Tecmo Koei's "way" of sneaking the game past the SJW "filter".
Japanese devs typically only translate the game into Chinese if they're serious about not localizing the game for western audiences and want to focus on "Asian markets" (For whatever reasons, "Asian markets" to them seems to only mean the Chinese)

However, I'm worried that it would become a new trend and JP companies would put off English localization altogether.

@prats93:
Not entirely similar but Mount Your Friends is a good one...
Features "hotdog" physics and cartoonish musclemen mounting each other.
Guess what? No SJW backlash.

.... and there are folks out there that actually believes that SJWs and third-wave feminists have no effect on the gaming industry.
Yup, totally no ripples forming here /sarcasm

On a more serious note, this is mildly concerning since other Japanese developers may just decide that they would rather limit their sales to a smaller demographic rather than deal with the radical feminist infestation in the west.
Heck, I'm still (mildly) worried that the Odin Sphere remake would be jeopardised considering how SJWs attacked Dragon's Crown when it was revealed and near release.
Not to mention it may hurt games that doesn't have a huge fanpool as it is and lacking a localization release date like God Eater Resurrection because of a few... "additional" features in the game.

Hope I'm overthinking things.

Ah snap, my mistake.
Can't believe I got the two mixed up.
