@cboye18: Oh come on with your Dragon's Dogma and Kingdom of Amalur. There's no frikin strategy for taking out enemies, except for bosses in Dragon's Dogma. And can we stop comparing stealth and combo based combat games with RPGs?
@spaced92: All of those games have combo moves, yet all of those games are better played mashing buttons. No, I bet adding "brilliant comment" there at the end makes you objectively the smarter person, especially after turning one thing I wrote into whatever your brain brewed.
@cboye18: And what combat mechanics do you enjoy more? I'm guessing you're gonna say either Dark Souls, like every pretentious snob, or something stupid like Mortal Kombat.
@TheZeroPercent: Rocksteady's games have nothing to do with EA's, Pandemic, or Nolan's movies. Indeed, after EA fudged, Warner Bros took their licence for Batman and decided to publish a game on their own. What you're talking about has nothing to do with the video you didn't bother to watch.
I know it's just a beta... but I can't help feeling this excuse won't hold when the game gets released. I suspect that these devs have no experience with mmos, and also the engine is new - although not as impressive as they led us to believe, - and that's something to worry about. It's my take on this.
So far... it's not bad. Because I'm more of a single player type, I'm really put off by the entire mmo aspect of this game, which isn't the game's fault, don't get me wrong. The game is designed that way, but I feel like it doesn't do much to get above what it is. In fact, later in the game it really becomes the same old grindy mmo. Again, I understand the way it's designed, and I don't want it to make me feel special in any way. My one and only fear is that the final release is not going to be any better or more than what it is right now (except for areas and story), and I had the same feeling about The Crew. I don't like the claustrophobic hub world, which is a shame, because there's so much that can be done with all those blocks of buldings. The enemies, at least the ones from the start, they're not explained very well. I don't know if those are the PMA some characters keep referring or just well armed looter with a death wish, but the game says they're bad, they attack me so I have to shoot them, I guess. I don't like that there's SO MUCH JUNK everywhere, but it's just for decor. The insignificant crap you loot is - at least as far as I played - not even worth the bother. And this is just a peeve of mine, but the playable character moves so darn stiff, and I don't know if it's just me but I couldn't find the crouch button /s. Also, yeah, not only do the graphics look nothing like early advertisements, but the engine also takes a toll on my PC. So okay, it's a beta. What I do like is the shootin' and the duckin' coverin'. That works like it should. And it's a good RPG at that. There are skills and stuff to unlock, there's a good sense of progression level-wise. I couldn't care much about the story or the first couple of characters I met, not to mention the worthless AI, and while I could see myself immersed in this digital New York for a few days, just exploring on my own, I don't think I care too much for the mmo side of things. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If at first I was disappointed that a game this gorgeous would be online only, it's not that gorgeous anymore.
@longflopper: I have 822 games on Steam alone, and I don't shy away from using Origin, Uplay, Gog's Galaxy and battle.net. I also own a console, but I hope you see the point I want to make. Let's keep it down with the name calling. I buy every game I at least intend to play, and I hate the "PC master race" bullcrap as much as you do maybe, but you don't get to call the PC gamer in me a douchebag when I've actually bought more games than you ever.
@longflopper: "A lot" is not at all convincing. What is "a lot"? 16? 22? 140? 2000? Put your money where your mouth is... is the analogy here. So why not impress us with a (serious and honest) number if you like running your piehole so much?
