Racing (Realistic): Test Drive Unlimited (Or wait a few months for TDU2)

Racing (Unrealistic): Need For Speed Undercover (Or wait a few months for NFS Hot Pursuit)

Skating: Skate 3, Tony Hawk Project 8

Action / Adventure: Grand Theft Auto IV, Crackdown 2 (As you specified), Just Cause, Brutal Legend, Darksiders (Sorta like Dragon Age: Origins)

I would never say that it's "safe"... If you do it, then probably nothing is going to happen. Yet the consequences are too risky... I personally wouldn't do it, mainly because of the overheating and costs... Of course, if you do it, make sure you don't do it in a "please-overheat-me" area, which would be in crammed places where the Xbox has no place to "breath". Preferably, keep it all the other gadgets etc. in a 12in / 40cm diameter around it.
