@dalger21: Again, considering that Horizon is probably the premier PS4 game this year and Halo Wars is a spin-off of one of MS's premier games, they're pretty close on the Metacritic scale. Yup.

They're both 8's, one is simply a low 8 and the other a high 8.

A difference of .7

Gordon Freeman and Wallace Breen are both the protagonists and antagonists of Half-Life 2.

Breen was an opportunist who found himself in a position of power, control and leadership for humanity, and to maintain his position he had to keep everyone in check. He was the link between the Combine and human population, a conduit for their will more or less and a deal broker. If you actually break down his intentions and his position, it may be selfish in regards, and it may be cowardice, however he was keeping humanity from extinction by perpetuating a neutral state with the Combine. The reason he became the "villain" in Half-Life 2 was entirely due to Gordon Freeman's insurrection, Gordon was destroying everything that Breen had built to keep humanity alive, his insurrection was dismantling the Combine's understanding and agreement with Breen that kept humans from extinction, in a way Gordon was the antagonist of Half-Life 2 as well.

Breen's intentions were always good but were that of compliance, and led to him trying to kill Gordon Freeman to save everyone, if Gordon was unsuccessful in his rebellion the Combine would wipe out humanity, that is why Breen was trying to kill him, to save humanity in the event of Gordon's failure.

Gordon's intentions were always good and led to him trying to overthrow Breen and wipe out the Combine to save humanity, but he was always reckless, didn't see the bigger picture and how his actions could unravel everything that was keeping him and everyone else alive.

So you see, they were both the antagonists and protagonists of this story, and that's something most people didn't see for whatever reason.

Excellent post.

Could basically be summed up as better to die on your feet or live on your knees, dying for a cause is a romantic and far more appealing idea, it's Freemans appeal to the citizens in the game as well as the player, whereas Breen takes a distanced objective look at matters, though him seeing the better of humanity (by basically removing it) without any choice in the matter is arguably bad, bad.

Very much reminiscent of that scene from Deep Space 9 where Bashire calculates it's better to give in to the Dominion, with Sisko telling him to stop being a silly prick.

That fits perfectly, have you played Quantum Break by chance? I would say that Paul Serene is without a doubt the Wallace Breen of this generation, the best villian we've seen yet, equally as good and bad with positive intentions that are rebelled against.

If you really look at that game in comparison to Half-Life 2, it's the same overarching story with a different scenario, Paul is Breen, and Jack Joyce is Gordon Freeman.

Something doesn't any make sense to me.

"There are currently no plans to release on this platform. The main reason for this is that the Japanese market for Xbox One is not strong, so the decision was made to focus on PlayStation 4 rather than to split our efforts across two platforms.

The biggest benefit to developing on one platform is that we did not have to split our time, allowing us to focus more on the quality. It is not about whether one platform is better than the other, it's that from a development point of view were can devote more time to one platform."

The decision was made so they could focus their efforts rather than split them across two platforms yet they're developing the game already on two platforms?!?

No they are making it for PS4. There is no PC version in development right now, which is why there is no releases date for the PC version (which may not even happen).

What are you talking about? The game is already confirmed for PC, that's a done deal, also why wouldn't it be in development right now?

You're a little off the map in terms of what's going on here, just a wee bit... He's probably going around trying to build relationships, give developers/publishers reasons to work with them. The biggest issue Xbox has with the Japanese market is not the Japanese game market itself, it's the lack of continued Japanese support on the platform. If Xbox had a continued stream of Japanese games similar to PlayStation it would become normalized and the games would sell. The reason Japanese games don't do that well on Xbox is because they are so sparsely released that people which are a fan of these games do not buy the platform as it's not currently viable for it, PlayStation is much more viable.

If he can get a bevy of releases in the works and keeps focusing on it, he could greatly open the scope of the system to other demographics.

The game looks good but I still think it's going to be a wait to buy after Zelda, there's just too much to play right now.

I hope they get put back on the map, AMD has always made quality stuff but due to their market share loss they were just never able to afford something truly great since the mid 2000's in terms of architecture.

Ryzen seems to be what everyone has wanted from them.

Might have to do with the fact that Nioh sold out everywhere. On Amazon to get a physical copy they're estimating 1-2 months delivery time. That is the case in the US. I don't know if it's similar in Europe.

I am in the US and they have them in the stores by me, including Gamestop. I pulled up Target and you can go to these places near me and find it (based off my zip code 53703):

Fond Du Lac

Milwaukee

Lake Geneva

Madison

http://www.target.com/p/nioh-playstation-4/-/A-52001795?lnk=fiatsCookie

They got restocked in certain locations. They were still sold out country wide for a few days.

Good to know though.

Must depend on location then. I have yet to see it sold out in my area. That said, I know it isn't sold out on PSN :)

It depends on the store really, I've seen it in some stores and not in others.
