I'm not one to care much about 3D, I usually play with it off. Having said that my last 3 games for 3DS has been remakes/ports (this game, samus returns, and poochie & yoshi's wooly world). I would rather have new releases. Seems like the 3DS is half dead for the most part. I can't believe all the new 3DS owners got as new 3DS exclusives thus far have been xenoblade, runbow, and fire emblem warriors (aside from re-released snes and gba games). I also don't see a point in this release without 3D, unless you haven't played it before.

Only console that needs a remake is 64 due to how hard it is to emulate.

@Dualmask: Well said. I'd want one because of the authenticity, legit controllers from nintendo etc. Sadly they can't keep up with demand, some people don't see it as an issue for nintendo (I suggest those same people never run their own business).

Disappointing Crack Down and Crack Down 2 still aren't backward compatible. Many xbox games were multi platform with PS2, very few exclusives that aren't already bundled into a collection (like halo games). This appeals to some people, just not most. Waste of time, effort, and money while Sony cranks out better exclusives.....smh

@dudebropartyyo: agreed, hard to believe they set enough time aside for Watchdogs 2, else there would be a 15th or 20th AC by now.

Probably got 3-4 more ports coming this year, besides that all you'll have is a mario game. I have a wii u with a virtual copy of every exclusive so the switch is pointless. Ports are mostly what the 3DS has become as well with recycled sports game, yoshi woolly world, super mario 3d maker.....at least hey pikmin will be different.

For 2017 so far we can see that 3DS has received many wii u console ports, support not as good as years past (aside from sun and moon). Some "New" 3DS exclusives exists, but they are a 2 edged sword. Meaning if you want to cut out the availability of a game on the old 3DS to spark "New" 3DS sales, you lose the current customer base of the old 3DS not buying the software.

I don't overly praise 1080p or 4K gaming, even though I have a PC with a GTX 1070. I like games, period, ones that have as much focus or more on story and gameplay than fine tuned graphics. With that said, the leap from Wii U to Switch was not enormous. Fitting a future handheld with graphic capability between the NEW 3DS and switch may seem pointless as the switch is already handheld. In the long run, switch will fully cannibalize their portable line and they'll license some games to android and ios systems (or at least they should) to gain market share or help the switch gain exposure to Wii console sales levels.

Have a feeling we will see a large release of ported games. The handheld/portable aspect will become more emphasized with a large variety of cheap games, plus wii u had plenty of excellent titles that couldn't sell well because people didn't have or want the console. Many of those wii u games are small in nature and you could fit many onto an sd card.
