I've played through the campaign a few times and changed the difficulty with out any issues. Could be you need to clear your cache or have a corrupt game save.
I didn't find it too bad up until the recent update. Then it got consistently poor. The lag is horrible. Seems Treyarch is working on game mechanics and game modes as ppl complain some weapons are too strong. No they weren't, they just need to work on the lag, game is great otherwise.
I didn't find the ending that bad. Only question I had was if the crew of the Normandy was on Earth fighting how did they just end up in hyper space when the Mass Effect Relays went down. Oh ya and that all the decisions you made during all 3 games had absolutely no affect on the ending. You always had the same 3 choices.
I guess it comes down to game genre preference. Some like myself really get into and love RPG's. I have put over 160 hours into Skyrim before I completed all the quests.
The game MW2 lags terribly. I have a 1.5Mbps upload and still experience lag. Game may run smoothly but with so many online it shows sutle signs of lag. For example this has happened a few times, I was aiming looking for enemy, I was looking directly at the location where I was getting shot from. The enemy did not appear on my screen until at the moment I died.
Simulated surround sound is just that, simulated. It is stereo (left and right) altered to sound like surround sound. Dolby 5.1 surround is actually 6 channels (left front & rear, right front & rear, center, subwoofer), where stereo has only 2 channels (left and right).
I buy a single player game if I like it, same applies to multiplayer games. If I don't like it I don't buy it, simple. I will read reviews, play demo if available to help make my decisions.
The only time I see camping as a problem if the entire team is doing it. Or both teams. The team that camps usually looses the match as your locations are easy to find.
