The only problems I have had so far have been with 1.51 update. It has caused video playback to stop periodicly and there has been times where it has froze for more thea 30 seconds. It has not affected my games in any way.
Apparently alot of people want this beta because I just went into circuit city and they only had 4 copies left. I had it reserved somewhere else but they were offering the halo faceplate for free with purchase. The display which held quite a few games was empty.
You have the option to join as a silver member and just use the marketplace for downloads and stuff. You could use the 48hr passes to play for 2 days, they are included with select games.
I still have a launch day 360. My ps3 so far has been more trouble because everytime a new update is released to fix an existing problem it winds up causing another one somewhere else.
