when they launched the final fantasy 13 they wanted the game to be loved as much like the final fantasy 7.
as the lighning charather is a complete reference to cloud and SE wanted her to be loved as much as cloud too, that is not the reality, they wanted to believe that so hard that they launched 3 games of this final fantasy number.
now my thoughts are it seems SE when lauching these games looks that they are imposing us this charather like she was a cloud for us fans. she is not ,
not even closer.
i liked the first game of 13 but it was the worst final fantasy i played:S compared to others. my favourite ff is 6:D not 7 but i know that most of the fans like that one, maybe its because they never played 6 before xD
