As of late I've been having a lot of troubles with my CD drive.

First, when I play a CD from the drive, the sound is stretched out and choppy, not just the music but all sounds. The little *tick* of my pop-up blocker blocking a popup becomes *ti ii ii ii ii iii ii ck ck ck ck* and is about 5 seconds long.

Second, when I rip music from the CD to my hard drive it used to go at 5x-ish and take 20-30 seconds per song. Now it goes at 0.1x and takes 6+ minutes to rip a song. When the song is ripped, there are random bouts of choppy static throughput the song.

Third, when I play a game from the drive it takes AGES for it to recognise the CD. It took 20 minutes for it to start up Rise of Nations. Anything with Autoplay takes AGES to kick in.

Is this problem with the dirve, could it be a setting someone has messed with, or pehaps a virus? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You may want to take the children out of the room for this one, but I'm not sure if I'm even getting Halo 3. I've never been a huge fan of Halo.

The Lost Planet case is done really well, IMO. I allready own GoW. I'm going to be picking up the BioShock and GTAIV CE's they look to have lots of worthwhile stuff with them, and they look to be good games aswel.

Well, it depends on what I'm playing... If I'm playing Oblivion, I'll be playing for days straight, but if its Lost Planet Multi Player, I'll probably just play a few rounds, or an hour or two.

I've recently gotten a job, and with that, a bunch of disposable income. When I go to buy a game, I usually see a Collectors Edition of the game for $10.00 more. That said, which game collectors Editions are worth the extra 10 dollars on, and which ones would you say to just pass on?

I've bought Prey, Lost Planet, and Oblivion in CE. Of the 3, Oblivion, and Lost Planets CE's were the best, and Preys was alright. Oblivion and Lost Planet came with a DVD of bonus content, and other goodies, the Prey just had 2 metal figures and an art book. Its alright, but nothing TOO special IMO. So: What CE's are worth snagging and which arent?

[QUOTE="Speedy454545"]

It has no saved files on it or anything, pretty much a blank XBL account.

vendettared468

I just deleted the profile but chose not do delete any files from it.

So does this mean I can create unlimited number of dud accounts just to get a free month of Xbox Live Gold?

Speedy454545

I don't think so. I think that that only happens once with each box, not account.

My friends all have a gamertag on my 360, and when I got Live they all got a free month too, next time they signed in.

Those two processors are practically on equal footing with one another. However, the E6600 runs cooler and can be overclocked A LOT further than the 6000+.

Have you thought about waiting until July 22nd for a $266 Q6600?

Your post was really helpful, and what I really wanted to know :D.

Will this Q6600 be that much better that it is worth the wait, and the extra money?

well unless you want to future proff it for the next 5 years there isn't much point, there is no current game than can even take full advantage of 2 core let alone 4

Well, I'm hoping for this PC to last me a while... maybe add a bit more memory in a few years, but not build a new pc every year.

Yeah, it's worldwide.

It means that Intel will sell the Q6600 in 1000 unit volumes to global suppliers (who sell it to retailers, who sell it to you).

Wesker776
Well, given this, this will give me a month to save up $$$, and weigh my options better, and pick the rest of the parts. Thankyou for your help.

Well, it is a quad core...so, I dunno... :P

I just found out that NewEgg doesn't ship to Canada, so is this a universal price drop, or a special deal on NewEgg?
