Thanks for the replies. I got up the tower through the security station as I had previously and have taken out Hugo Strange.

I think what stumped me and lead to my OP was that this was the first time the Cryptographic Sequencer had not worked the first time. I realized I was working with a new level of security but didn't think I had to reattempt the lock several times (which I had!). It lead me to think I had needed another upgrade or missedsomething in the game.

Though it can be quite tough and I know I will not get such a high score as playing on a lower level, hard mode is excellent.

I'm going to assume that you got to the area with the elevator, took out the bad guys, and can't get the elevator to work. You have to use the sequencer on the panel in front of the elevator, but this one will require some precision. There are several options to try as passwords, for instance, each analog stick will give you about 4 different options to try, so you have several possible combinations. Start with each stick in the same position and start moving one of them slowly in one direction, you will see what I mean; try different combinations until you find the right one.
