yea extrmely long crazy hassle no one shouldhaveto deal with. Game runs fine for 6 months. then out of the blue. oh you have a badcdkey error. Good game.

Well after 8 hours of messing with this damn game. I finaly got it to work. So much for the free space on my C drive as I format my drives for a Windows only partition.

Installing 2142 to the DEFAULT location works. I think that is utter BS to have to do to get a game to work.

Ive searched and searched for a fix. the ERCG or whatever is NOT in my registry. Ive unintalled. Deleted everything. Did a regclean with CCleaner.

Did a reboot.

REINSTALLED, and Patched. Tried to play and I get the Invalid cd key. I purchsed this game through the EAdownloader. DONT EVER DO THIS!!!!!!

Ive had more problems with 2142 than any other game ever! heck the only way I got it to even run was to tell it to use compadibility mode as win2000

under WinXP sp3. But then stuck when trying to join servers with the invail cd key error. If anything at this point I feel EA owes me a refund and

more for my constant struggle to have 2142 as a working game. it seems like everytime I try to play this game I have to end up constructing a 3 ring circus
