Battlefield 2142 CD key invalid help

So I got a new PC 2 days ago.

I got an XPS 410

My Componets

OPTICAL DRIVE:Single Drive: 16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability

MONITORS:20 inch E207WFP Widescreen Digital Flat Panel

VIDEO CARD:256MB nVidia GeForce 8600 GTSSOUND CARDIntegrated 7.1 Channel Audio

And I also got 4 new games today:

Halo 2(PC)-Works fine

Company of Heroes(PC)-Works fine

Battlefield 2(PC)-Works fine

Battlefield 2142(PC)-Doesn't Work........It always says invalid cd-key when i try to sign in....I did every thing it says to do at http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=14245but it always says invalid cd-key anyone know how to fix this problem?

I havent played in a couple weeks but if I remember correctly 1.25, Theres a 1.40 BETA patch but I dont suggest gettin the beta patch (I Dont know how many servers are running it)

If you still have problems go to EA Support and open a Support Ticket with them labeled "Battlefield 2142 CD key invalid"

Ive searched and searched for a fix. the ERCG or whatever is NOT in my registry. Ive unintalled. Deleted everything. Did a regclean with CCleaner.

Did a reboot.

REINSTALLED, and Patched. Tried to play and I get the Invalid cd key. I purchsed this game through the EAdownloader. DONT EVER DO THIS!!!!!!

Ive had more problems with 2142 than any other game ever! heck the only way I got it to even run was to tell it to use compadibility mode as win2000

under WinXP sp3. But then stuck when trying to join servers with the invail cd key error. If anything at this point I feel EA owes me a refund and

more for my constant struggle to have 2142 as a working game. it seems like everytime I try to play this game I have to end up constructing a 3 ring circus

yea extrmely long crazy hassle no one shouldhaveto deal with. Game runs fine for 6 months. then out of the blue. oh you have a badcdkey error. Good game.

Well after 8 hours of messing with this damn game. I finaly got it to work. So much for the free space on my C drive as I format my drives for a Windows only partition.

Installing 2142 to the DEFAULT location works. I think that is utter BS to have to do to get a game to work.

I HATE EA!

Just dont install 2142 without using the default path. RETARDED!
