I shudder to think about some of the games I bought just for the sheer lack of anything else out in that first year (The Bouncer, Fantavision, RC Revenge Pro...yikes). I'm beginning to feel the same regret about some of my first PS3 titles (Tony Hawk's Project 8, The Darkness, Motorstorm).
Right alongside The Bouncer is my save from Sky Odyssey,sometime in 2001. Very underrated...I still pop that one in from time to time.

Hi Voltage,
I think the Bouncer was actually quite underrated. I enjoyed the game very much and had fun playing as the different characters. I was suprised to see no one else had it on the list. :) Did you enjoy it?

Des, I thought it was OK at the time...I remember playing through it a bunch of times. I loved the idea of EXP for a fighting game, I can't recall many games (outside of River City Ransom and maybe Double Dragon III) that had tried that concept up to that point. But looking back I think I mainly got it just because it was Square and there wasn't much else available back then. Reminded me a bit of when I bought Ehrgeiz for PS1, in that I wanted to like it just because it was Square and just because FF7 characters were in it. In the case of The Bouncer, again I wanted to like it because it was Square...and also because one of the characters was named VOLT! 8)
