I find it odd that gamespot only analyzed the screen shots of games that are known to look different on the 2 systems. Or that is to say that the majority of them were. But enough about that. Fallout 3- 360, wtf bethesda, Oblivion actually looked slightly better so why screw up now? Soul Calibur 4- No difference, especially not "better flowers". More saturated colors on ps3 Dead space 360- glaring shadow difference, but other than that, ps3's colors more saturated, probably the T.V. settings. Force Unleased 360- PS3 version looks like mud with no definition. World at war- No difference, Ps3 colors more saturated, damn TV's. Madden- Couldn't tell the 2 apart Mortal Kombat 360- Small details make 360 look better.
Oh for the love of god. Nice job, Gamespot. Very balanced assumptions here, especially on GTA 4 where most would say it's less jagged and better looking on the PS3. So let me ask you this, what's the price of your souls? How much are you paid for this, or do you do it for fun? Because if someone can pay you to offer unbalanced opinions, then i have a nice 20$ bill for the first person who wants to change Halo 3's score to a a 10. It's just a .5 difference, making it only 2.5% over what it deserves, no big deal.
Also, now that we know there is and will be way to get highest quality on xp, vista seems at a loss and Microsoft can no longer smear bullcrap all over the internet. If denying users high quality setting is their strategy to get people into vista, it won't work. Not to mention it's a tactic that only pond scum would use. I just used the highest quality crack and it ran like a dream at around 30 fps with some slowdown spots. I'm sure these slowdowns will be addressed and i hope Crytek doesn't give in to Microsoft's barbaric marketing strategies in the full release.
Wow, i have to ask; what's the point? It looks virtually the same except some things look different every time you play such as the tree and grass position and time of day. I think everyone can agree wholeheartedly that DX10 is looking like the biggest letdown in history. The funny thing is, they are still acting like it makes a difference :\ It makes a difference alright, if you enjoy playing games with lower framerates then by all means buy vista and play this in DX10.
I just bought a a computer and a BFG overclocked 8800 GTS 640 MB today. Unfortunately, i can't get the internet connection to work so i have to revert to old crappy here... Fortunately, it's great to hear that it's the best performance to price ratio because that mofo cost me an odd $580 CDN. It sounds like a rip off price to me but it's the only one i could find in all of Ontario.
I still want a ps3 mostly for Resistance, Motorstorm and VIrtua FIghter 5. These are very good suggestions that i'm sure will be looked at. On a side note, i don't mind that VF5 isn't online, i suck at and don't like playing online fighting games...
