My problem with your assertion SkyCastleDan is that it assumes there is an extreme decline in box office revenue.  This isn't really the case.  The Passion of the Christ inflated the 2004 year making 2005 seem worse than it really was.  The take for this year is already, percentage wise, way ahead of last year's, and the insane amount of money Pirates II just made is only going to widen the margin.  There are many sites where you can find statistics; boxofficemojo.com has a lovely grid that breaks it down for you.

As of June 19th, it had sold 2.4 million copies worldwide with several European countries, most notably France, not being included in the tally. This makes it comparable to the highest single-year selling anime of all time, the Animatrix, at 2.7 million copies.
