Hey guys this doesn't happen as often as you might think... I've had mine since launch and I haven't had any problems. However I had some freezing issues with assassin's Creed but it was a problem with the game itself and there is a patch to solve this problem. COD4 worked fine thou...
There was also an issue with one of the updates that certain people experienced i think it was with update 2.00 so i just skippoed that one and updated diectly to 2.01 and I haven't had problems either.
If none of the above help or solves the problem it might be a bad batch that got damaged during shipping or something and yoiu should be able to exchange it without any hassle but like I said out of everyone I know with a PS3 (all of them the original 60G one thou) haven't had any problems.
Well i will get Uncharted no matter what the rating is on GS... I've noticed that they do rate PS3 games alot lower than Xbox games but I guess it's because they "like" the Xbox more than the PS3 and I think that is obvious. And also they seem to only really like FPS with online multiplayer capabilities. And I guess if that is what floats their boat then let it be?
