Coherent? Here is a synopsis I ripped from wikipedia on the final act:

[QUOTE="wikipedia synposis on the final act"]

Yet Snake doesn't end his life. Big Boss, very much alive, appears and explains that the body burned in Eastern Europe was actually that of Solidus Snake and reveals that the Patriots were originally an interpretation of The Boss' will, founded by Major Zero, EVA, Ocelot, Sigint, Para-Medic, and Big Boss himself. With increasing power, two rival factions arose within the Patriots' ranks, Zero's who stood for complete control, and Big Boss', who dreamed of a soldier's world. Eva and Ocelot joined Big Boss in his cause. He also explains that Ocelot purposefully used nanomachines and hypnotherapy to implant the persona of Liquid Snake as his own. Over the years, Zero let the newly established AI network assume more and more control, eventually leading to dependence on the war economy, a vision far from The Boss' original will. Big Boss puts an end to the last remnant of this false vision by shutting down Zero's life support unit thus killing Zero.

Tell me you didn't just laugh after reading a ridiculous synopsis of MGS4's final act. Hell, I even had a harder time reading that synopsis than I did with my Organic Chemistry textbook. Kojima is overrated. He is a great developer---but it comes to plot/structure, he needs to be shown a restraining order and be made sure that he comes no where close when it comes to touching or even reading the game's plot/story until AFTER completion of the game and when the game has officially finished production and is ready for shipment

what did you say?

[QUOTE="u8muhrice"][QUOTE="Deathtransit"]Castlevania because it's long. Enslaved I will get, possibly bargain bin though. I did love HS though.Deathtransit
your number of posts spells out l337 lol

?Does that mean something?

its LEET... it was a "fad" awhile back.. nvm. Anyways, back to what youre saying.... I never denied Kojima had some great ideas. I merely just ranting about the possibility Kojima had in ruining Castlevania. We'll have to see when it comes out. As for now, all I can say is Alex Garland (writer of Enslaved and many great novels such as the Beach and 21 Days Later) is a great writer and is always consistent when it comes to plot structure. So I have no doubt in my mind that Enslaved will be a great experience.

I have played MGS4, and it's pretty coherent. Convuluted and corny at times? Yes. Still understandable? Yup. It does have some anti-war themes but it's not like it shoves them in your face. Mostly it's just a story about Snake trying to catch Ocelot.

Granted though, I never watched the 90 minute epilogue. I don't really have much time in my day to watch 90 minute epilogues :P

Kojima didn't write the story :|. All he did was give advice and slap his name on it for marketing.

Castlevania for me. Enslaved looks cool too, and I'm glad to see more action-adventure style games coming out.

Upparoom

Yeah, he probably "advised" them to do some ridiculous plot element. I can just see it now; Producer 1: So we're gunna have the protagonist face this vampire in this scene right here. Kojima: Thats's great---now if we just add some biblical references, like eden, and mt. sion and--- Producer 2: Whoa, wait--- Eden? Mt. Sion? What the hell does that have to do with anything? Kojima: Dont judge me! Philosophical references always is good and it what makes a great story. You add element too the--- Producter 1: Kojima, shut the **ck up you c**t. You don't know sh**t Kojima: You are right. I am a failure Producer 1 + 2: Yes you are Kojima, yes you are

But seriously, all he did was help make the main character more likeable and gave some advice on gameplay/cinematics(facial animations etc); the story was written by the devs. Kojima's stories have political/philsophical undertones but they aren't really as overbearing as you're making them out to be :|

You're joking right? Have you played MGS4? No one understood what Kojima was spewing about that he had to come out with a MGS Anthology/Wiki to fill in any questions (which was probably about 100 for each gamer) people had. The guy is a great game developer---dont get me wrong. But when it comes to story, you better take an aderall because youll be listening to a ridiculous philosophical lecture rather than a coherent plot

Enslaved. Alex Garland (who is writing the game's story, wrote the Beach, 21 days later, etc) is an amazing author. Knowing him, he will do a great job presenting the story. With Castlevania, Kojima will prob add some ridiculous philosophical element that will leave you laughing and remembering how over rated Kojima was/is/will forever be. The guy really sucks. Bad. Really bad.

OhSnapitz
So how do you REALLY feel about Kojima? :? Anyway, I'm sure the stories in both games will be good but the actual gameplay is what peeks my intrest. I've seen gaming stories written well but the gameplay is atrocious (Too Human). But I think both titles have been in the oven long enough and will both do well *crosses fingers*

I hope both do well too. I just hope Kojima didn't defecate on the story's plot line. I would be extremely sad if there is one non sensical biblical reference or a korean vampire pop singer music video.

Whoa buddy Kojima didn't write the story so you don't have to worry about that ;) Anyway, I'm getting both I'm looking forward to seeing which one I'd have a better experience with.

like i said to the previous poster above you, im sure he advised the developers to add in biblical references here and there to make the plot completely nonsensical. It's what Kojima does best. And he does it well.

Bioshock 2. I haven't beaten it yet, but it seems like it has a good story. majadamus
that story is alright. There are many better ones though. BS2 tried way too hard, while BS1 was perfect. A great story that comes to mind is Uncharted. Superb voice acting and cinematics. I found the game more entertaining than some hollywood blockbusters
